Affectionately known as La Caseta, this residence is anything but diminutive. It represents the tangible realization of a dream, a space conceived to elevate everyday living into something extraordinary. Located in a privileged location, this house emerged from a profound transformation, preserving the soul of what once was, to expand and offer a new dimension of comfort.
We took the original silhouette as a starting point, like the first stroke on a blank canvas. From there, we expanded it, accentuating its horizontality to harmonize with the terrain. The house is laid out with the main suite occupying the upper floor, while the lower level becomes the heart of family life, housing the bedrooms, kitchen, dining room, etc., responding to a primary desire: absolute comfort.
Our aim was to create a home where everything was within reach, where functionality would merge with the beauty of design. When contemplating its walls, natural stone takes center stage, evoking the strength and warmth of the nearby Mediterranean landscapes. This masonry, arranged in parallel walls perpendicular to the main volume, is more than an aesthetic element; it acts as an organic structure, fluidly organizing the interior space and creating a dialogue between indoors and outdoors. In this intelligent duality, we find an echo of Mies Van der Rohe's mastery, where form elegantly follows function.
The palette of materials is enriched by the presence of Corten steel and lime mortar, providing earthy and creamy tones that extend like a gentle embrace into the interior. This chromatic continuity is reflected in the furniture, fittings and wall details, creating a sense of coherence and serenity. The transition from outside to inside becomes a harmonious sensory experience, where boundaries fade away.
The playful spirit and passions of the home's inhabitants reveal themselves in the outdoor spaces. A touch of fun with a mini basketball court, the invitation to calm and strategy in the pétanque pitch, and a connection to the land through an elevated vegetable garden in elegant Corten steel planters. Every element has been designed for outdoor enjoyment and well-being.
The architectural horizontality continues in the sinuous swimming pool and the surrounding gardens, creating an oasis of tranquility and beauty. Beneath the surface, a spacious basement discreetly houses the vehicles, merging practicality with refined aesthetics.
